Sheer Kurma is a delicious dessert coming all the way from Persian cuisine. Made with milk, vermicelli, sugar and loads of dry fruits, this rich dessert will satiate all your sweet cravings in a jiffy. Sheer Kurma is specially made on the auspicious festival of Eid. Many people add saffron, cardamom powder and poppy seeds to accentuate the flavours. Here we have added rose water and khoya for some extra aroma and flavours. You can skip the step if you wish to. Try making this creamy delight on Eid and impress all your loved ones with your culinary skills.


  • 1 litre milk
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 2 tablespoon khoya
  • 1/2 cup roasted vermicelli
  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 1/4 cup pistachios
  • 6 pitted dates
  • 1 teaspoon rose water

How to make Sheer Kurma

  • Step 1. Roast the dry fruits. Firstly heat ghee in a pan. Now add cashews, almonds, pistachios and raisins. Roast them for a few minutes.
  • Step 2. Boil the milk. In another pan, heat milk and let it come to a boil. Add the roasted vermicelli and mix. Now let it simmer on medium flame. Stir in between and let is reduce to half. You will notice that the milk is now thick.
  • Step 3. Add the other ingredients. Add sugar and khoya to the milk and mix. Keep the flame medium and add the roasted nuts. Add the chopped dates and rose water. Mix everything and cook for last two minutes.
